As part of our long communicated roadmap to completely decentralise both data indexing and RPC infrastructure, SubQuery takes a big step forward today with our first two public RPC endpoints for Ethereum and Base.

Behind these RPC endpoints is a network of independent RPC providers operating around the world in a decentralised, trustless, and unstoppable way. Anyone can join them in our open network, and they are being orchestrated and rewarded in real time by the SubQuery Network. This momentous development represents a crucial stride in our ongoing evolution to create a more accessible, interoperable, and developer-friendly web3 ecosystem that will elevate the entire developer experience.

How to Access Public RPCs

Go to the SubQuery Explorer App and switch over to the RPC Endpoint list. We’ve currently have public RPC endpoints for 2 different networks, but we have more coming.

For example, you can query the following in terminal to get the current block number:

curl -H 'content-type:application/json' -d '{"id": 1, "jsonrpc": "2.0", "method": "eth_blockNumber"}' 'https://gateway.subquery.network/rpc/eth'

These public RPCs are offered to all to help test and verify the resilience and performance of our decentralised network. Anyone is free to access them under our free RPC terms of service, with a rate limit of 5 requests per second.

What’s next

Public RPCs are the first step of our roadmap for full RPC support, as we detailed in March’s community call. In the coming weeks, we’ll continue to add further support with more networks, pay-as-you-go flex plan subscription pricing, and finally, the long awaited SubQuery Data Node.

About SubQuery

SubQuery Network is innovating web3 infrastructure with tools that empower builders to decentralise the future. Our fast, flexible, and open data indexer supercharges dApps on 160 networks, enabling a user-focused web3 world. Soon, our Data Node will provide breakthroughs in the RPC industry, and deliver decentralisation without compromise. We pioneer the web3 revolution for visionaries and forward-thinkers. We’re not just a company — we’re a movement driving an inclusive and decentralised web3 era. Let’s shape the future of web3, together.
