As we welcome the dawn of a new year, let's take a retrospective glance at the events that unfolded in the closing month of 2023.

In particular, we've just recently announced our Public Sale date on the 30th of January 2024, and have received a lot of positive feedback. Now that we're moving into our next stage of growth, we want to thank our ever-supportive community and customers for making this possible. Things are about to get busy at SubQuery, and it's going to be a massive month of January coming up, so wherever you are, we hope you have a wonderful holiday season and spend valuable time with your family.

As usual, we will serve our monthly update in three sections: Community, Product Development, and SubQuery Network.

Community

The SQT Public Sale Date

The Public Sale is an opportunity for our community to purchase the SubQuery Token (SQT). The launch of SQT is the next step in the decentralisation of our indexing solution and a move towards community governance.

The SQT Public Sale will take place on Tuesday 30th January 2024 on the SubQuery Foundation’s website, which will host all sales details and guidelines from early January. Airdrop opportunities for SubQuery community members as well as the process to swap kSQT<>SQT for the Kepler Network participants will be announced separately.

Core Product Development

SubQuery Network’s Bold Infrastructure Evolution

Within SubQuery Network's mainnet, its capabilities extend beyond mere data indexing. Through our foundational contracts, versatile tools, and innovative reward flow, we've crafted a solution with the potential to decentralise various aspects.

The mainnet launch signifies our commitment to decentralise everything, sparking a paradigm shift in the developer experience within the web3 landscape, starting with RPCs. Given our reliance on performant and scalable RPCs for optimal indexing speed across 125+ chains (and counting), our close collaboration with RPC providers has revealed a fragmented ecosystem.

In our quest to disrupt the existing equilibrium and decentralise the landscape, SubQuery Network aims to introduce an alternative. By establishing an open market, we empower data indexers, RPC providers, and their consumers, fostering a more inclusive and decentralised environment.

The future of SubQuery, one where we aim to transition from simply indexing web3 data to pioneering a complete web3 infrastructure revolution, will help unlock the next level of performance increases in web3.

SubQuery continues to expand to over 120 networks

Last December, we announced indexing support for Celo, a global payment infrastructure for cryptocurrencies targeting mobile users. Developers in Celo can take advantage of SubQuery's versatile, high-speed, open, and decentralised data indexing solution, equipping blockchain developers with essential tools for efficiently managing and querying on-chain data for their protocols and applications.

SubQuery’s Support for Celo

“We are excited to welcome SubQuery to provide fast and efficient indexing support to teams building here. Developers in Celo will benefit from SubQuery’s excellent developer experience, and fast & feature-rich indexer to support Celo’s rich mobile web3 and ReFi (Regenerative Finance) ecosystems.”

SubQuery Network

SubQuery Integrated SPACE ID to Streamline Decentralised Identity

SPACE ID is building a universal name service network with a one-stop identity platform to discover, register, trade, and manage web3 domains.

As of December, SubQuery Kepler is augmented by SPACE ID's Web3 Name SDK. Once connected, SPACE ID allows users to replace their lengthy blockchain addresses with a simple human-readable name.

SPACE ID allows users to manage all aspects of their domains in one place. No more using multiple products for different domains. By integrating them with Kepler we can enable our users to leverage their custom domain names and link their activities to one decentralised profile.

Kepler previously supported Ethereum Name System (ENS) however SPACE ID has allowed us to widen this support to .bnb and .arb domain names.
