Today we’re excited to announce our indexing support for Vara Network. Vara Network is a Substrate-based, PoS Layer-1 decentralized network powered by the Gear Protocol.
SubQuery’s flexible, fast, open, and decentralised data indexing solution provides blockchain developers with the tools needed to easily organise and query on-chain data for their protocol and applications. Abstracting the backend, SubQuery provides a custom API and lets developers focus on product development and user experience rather than building their own indexing solutions.
Vara Network developers will benefit from the superior SubQuery indexing experience, including the open-source SDK, tools, documentation, and developer support that the SubQuery ecosystem provides. Vara Network is also supported in SubQuery’s enterprise level managed service, which provides enterprise level infrastructure hosting and handles hundreds of millions of requests each day.
"We're thrilled about our partnership with Vara, a fast and scalable Layer-1 decentralized network. By integrating our robust data indexing capabilities with Vara's versatile blockchain platform, we're empowering developers to unleash their creativity across various sectors, including DeFi, gaming, and more. This collaboration signifies a major step towards a decentralized future, offering inclusive and interoperable solutions for a wide range of blockchain applications." - Sam Zou, Founder and CEO of SubQuery
Our experience with customers across all verticals in Ethereum, Polygon, Polkadot, Cosmos, Algorand, NEAR and Avalanche (such as wallets, networks, explorers, NFT, DeFi, scanners, etc.) has helped us build the best Indexer for Developers in web3.
SubQuery is currently focused on decentralising and tokenizing the protocol to build the SubQuery Network. The SubQuery Network will index and service data from projects to the global community in an incentivized and verifiable way and support indexing Vara Network projects, and those from any other supported Layer-1 from the outset.
The Vara Network integration is live and ready to be used in production by projects across the network.

About Vara Network
Vara is a lightning-fast, highly scalable network Layer-1 decentralized network powered by Gear Protocol. Vara Network provides the ideal environment for next-gen gaming, financial-based applications, experimental features, and other modern use cases. It provides a secure, efficient, and scalable environment for deploying decentralized applications, and is designed for developers already familiar with Web3, but with added focus on those migrating from Web2.
SubQuery is a blockchain developer toolkit facilitating the construction of Web3 applications of the future. A SubQuery project is a complete API to organise and query data from Layer-1 chains. Currently servicing Ethereum, Polygon, BNB, NEAR, Polkadot, Avalanche, Algorand, Arbitrum, Cosmos and Flare projects, this data-as-a-service allows developers to focus on their core use case and front-end without wasting time building a custom backend for data processing activities. In the future, the SubQuery Network intends to replicate this scalable and reliable solution in a completely decentralised manner.
