We are excited to announce full SubQuery support for Metis today. SubQuery's indexing capabilities empower developers to efficiently manage and query on-chain data, expediting development processes and facilitating rapid iterations, ultimately advancing the goal of onboarding the next billion users to the blockchain.

Metis is a Layer 2 network, which bundles Ethereum transactions and processes them off-chain then returns them to Ethereum for recording, aims to improve Ethereum's scalability.  Its vision is to evolve DAOs into DACs (decentralized autonomous companies) – fully functioning businesses that are able to run like existing companies, but decentralized. Instead of just governance and voting, DACs will be able to execute functions like payroll, project management, HR and communications.

Now, developers in Metis can take advantage of SubQuery's versatile, high-speed, open, and decentralised data indexing solution, equipping blockchain developers with essential tools for efficiently managing and querying on-chain data for their protocols and applications.

SubQuery simplifies the intricacies of backend operations, providing developers with a tailor-made API. This enables them to focus on product development and enhancing user experiences, without the need to allocate resources towards constructing their indexing solutions.

“We're thrilled to bring SubQuery's multi-chain indexing innovation into the heart of Metis. This isn't just a new feature – it's an amazing tool for our developers, offering them a whole new world of possibilities. The synergy between SubQuery and Metis marks a new chapter of creativity and groundbreaking development. We can't wait to see the amazing experiences our community will bring to life!”

— Víctor Muñoz, Developer Relations at Metis

We’re always striving to provide developers with the most comprehensive and efficient indexing experience possible, including the open-source SDK, tools, documentation, and developer support that the SubQuery ecosystem provides. Metis is also supported in SubQuery’s enterprise-level managed service, which provides enterprise-level infrastructure hosting and handles hundreds of millions of requests each day.

Furthermore, with the upcoming launch of the SubQuery Network, we are poised to provide Metis developers with yet another decentralised indexing solution.

“We are excited to announce the seamless integration of SubQuery's data indexing solution into the Metis network, marking a significant step towards a harmonious blend of innovation and limitless possibilities. Our steadfast commitment is dedicated to empowering the visionary developers within the Metis community. Together, we embark on a journey to fuel a digital revolution, placing their core mission on a pedestal: crafting extraordinary products that elevate the user experience to unprecedented heights.”

— Sam Zou, Founder and CEO of SubQuery

Why Use SubQuery?

SubQuery makes it easy to build a custom API for your dApp or smart contracts in minutes, providing clean indexed data to any service. The excellent SubQuery developer experience is flexible, with the ability to make external API calls or import external libraries from within your mapping functions, and better controls to run your projects in your own infrastructure with automated DOS (denial of service) mitigation controls. Additionally, we have no plans to sunset our managed service.

SubQuery is designed to be fast, this adds up when you’re indexing millions of ledgers, and is something to consider when choosing your indexer. SubQuery achieves this by using mulit-threading and optimisation of the store to reduce costly database writes. With faster sync times, developers can iterate faster and deliver features to market quicker.

SubQuery’s Support for Metis

SubQuery Seekers Challenge

In celebration of our recent announcement regarding Metis support, we are thrilled to introduce a special challenge that rewards everyone who has engaged with Metis.

Metis is a permissionless Layer 2 network powering the next generation of decentralized applications. To pass this challenge, you must have made a transfer or approval for the [Metis Token](https://andromeda-explorer.metis.io/token/0xDeadDeAddeAddEAddeadDEaDDEAdDeaDDeAD0000/token-transfers) on Metis Andromeda Network (it must be done after block 11,000,000).

Please note that we sync this challenge every hour so please be patient and your progress will automatically update. Make sure your wallet address is the same in SubQuery Kepler and the SubQuery Seekers challenge.

About Metis

Metis is a scalable and sustainable layer 2 scaling solution developed on the Ethereum Blockchain.

Metis' Layer 2 network, which bundles Ethereum transactions and processes them off-chain then returns them to Ethereum for recording, aims to improve Ethereum's scalability.

Metis provides an NFT bridge between its Andromeda network and Ethereum, NFT storage, a framework for its DAO, DACs, and middleware to help developers manage their smart contracts.  The Metis token (METIS) is used in the Metis ecosystem for staking and transaction fees.
